چکیده
Introduction Encephalitis is an acute inflammation of brain caused by either host immune response or viral infection. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), viral encephalitis is predominantly caused by Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) which belongs to genus Flavivirus and family Flaviviridae. JEV is the main cause of viral encephalitis in many countries of Asia with an estimated 68,000 clinical cases every year[1,2]. JEV is a positive sense single strand (+ss) RNA virus of about 11 kb. RNA encodes a poly-protein precursor of approximately 3400 amino acid. Host cell signalases and viral encodes proteases would accomplish the processing of poly-protein and give rise to three structural proteins that includes core (C), preMembrane (prM) and envelop (E) and seven non-structural proteins NS1, NS2A, NS2B, NS3, NS4A, NS4B and NS5 which are responsible for the replication, viral transcription and also involves in alteration of host immune responses[3,4]. Interestingly, a larger NS1-related protein NS1’ (NS1 prime) is produced as a result of -1 ribosomal 1Department of Stem Cell / Cell Culture, Centre for Advance Research (CFAR), King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow 226003 (UP), India 2CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Uppal Road, Hyderabad 500007 (TS), India.

Aqueous Humor and Serum Concentrations of Soluble MICA and MICB in Glaucoma Patients
Background: Immune reactions have been reported to be involved in the destruction of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in glaucoma. Objective: To investigate the role of major histocompatibility complex class I-related chain A and B (MICA and MICB) molecules in the pathogenesis of glaucoma. Methods: Aqueous humor and serum samples from 15 glaucoma patients and 45 patients with cataract, undergoing ...
متن کاملStable Down-Regulation of HLA Class-I by Serum Starvation in Human PBMCs
Background: The human leukocyte antigen (HLA) matching between organ donor and recipient is an acceptable strategy in clinical transplantation since 1964. However, in bone marrow transplantation, finding matched donors is often problematic. Thus new method for down regulation of HLA can be an alternative strategy to solve this problem. Objective: To examine the effect of serum starvation on HLA...
متن کاملComparing Serum Levels of Th17 and Treg Cytokines in Women with Unexplained Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion and Fertile Women
Background: Increased evidences have shown that unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) is associated with inflammatory responses and breakage of immunological autotolerance. Therefore, the balance between Th17 and Treg cells may elucidate the pathophysiology of URSA. Objective: To investigate the serum concentration of regulatory and inflammatory cytokines associated with Treg and Th...
متن کاملSerum TNF-α, IL-10 and IL-2 in Schizophrenic Patients Before and After Treatment with Risperidone and Clozapine
Background: Schizophrenia is a disorder of the executive function of both sensory and central nervous system. Recent studies suggest that immune mechanisms play a role in the pathophysiology of this disease. The variations in cytokine concentrations have been associated with psychopathology and treatment of schizophrenia. Objective: To investigate the changes in serum concentrations of TNF- α, ...
متن کاملSerum and Peritoneal Fluid Cytokine Profiles in Infertile Women with Endometriosis
Background: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory disease with the growth of endometrial cells out of uterus and in the peritoneal cavity. T cell subsets participate in the establishment and progress of the disease by producing different cytokines. Objective: To investigate a group of cytokines related to Th1/Th2/Th17/Treg subsets within both peripheral blood...
